The Indian Studies Library is located on the 4th floor of Za’ba Memorial Library. Indian Studies Library has a total collection of 40,000 titles up to date, which reflects the studies and teaching in Indian Studies field. The library provides collection in Tamil, comprising of books, textbooks, AV materials (cassettes, CD, DVD), theses, conference papers, reference collection (dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbook, etc.), newspapers and journals.
COLLECTION
Monographs
The collection focuses mainly on books in literature, social, history and philosophy in Tamil language published locally and overseas.
Malaysiana
Malaysiana covers materials written by Malaysians/published in Malaysia and related to Malaysia. These materials are kept in stacks for users to access and also in closed stacks. At least one copy of Malaysiana materials are kept in closed stacks for preservation.
Conference papers
Unpublished or published papers presented at the seminars or conferences held in Malaysia and overseas.
Theses
The library also provides a collection of theses completed by the Indian Studies Department students located on 3rd floor.
Personal collections
Collections donated by or acquired from prominent individuals/scholars, such as the Nalli Kuppuswami Chettiar and Dr.Kalaivani a/p Kaliaperumal in the areas of Tamil Literature.

Reference and Information Services
Reference and information services are provided by qualified professional librarian and support staffs. Enquiries can be made directly to them.
Computers for Pendeta Discovery
The library provides 3 computers for users to serve Pendeta Discovery which allows users to search for items in the library collections and renew items.
Reading areas
Reading facilities are available for up to 30 users per time.
Photocopying
Self-services for photocopying are provided to the library users. Photocopy cards are available at the counter.
Newspaper/magazines
Users can relax and read Nanban and Makkal Osai newpapers and magazines.
