UM Library Carnival: My Library in My Heart

Making users aware what is offered by the library is an important task to ensure library is fully utilized by the users. UM Library has successfully organized a special event as one of the library promotional activities. Library Carnival is used as a one of the way to attract users to come and use library as their information centre for learning, teaching and research activities. UM Library Carnival was carried for four (4) days on 17 September 2014 until 20 September 2014 at the Central Library. The opening ceremony of Library Carnival with a theme of My Library in My Heart was officiated by University of Malaya Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Amin Jalaludin on 17 September 2014.

Various activities were carried out during Library Carnival as a platform for the library to reach the users such as:

• Exploring Library Services
• Library tour
• InfoHunt
• Students with special needs program
• Simple book binding demo
• Movie screening
• Colouring contest for children
• Blood donation
• Overdue fines discount
• Lucky draw
• Jumble sale
• Tribute for MH370 & MH17
• Vendor booth: book publisher, online database, CIMB, Digi, Mobile Book Cafe
• Demo for canting batik
• Photo booth
