Around 15 staff from Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka visited the Central & Za’ba Library on 3rd March 2017 led by the Malay Documentation Center Head, Puan Kamariah Abu Samah. The objective of the visit was to benchmark and share experiences in managing Institutional Repositories (IR) particularly on issues such as infrastructure requirements, policies, guidelines and copyright act. The ROI in IR development was another concern that they highlighted.

The visitors were shown repositories’ workflow in detail including digitization specifications.

It is hoped the relationship between the University of Malaya Library and Dewan Bahasa is stronger as a result of the visit opening windows of opportunities which would benefit both institutions.
