The Indian Studies Library resume its operations on 10th January 2018 (Wednesday) in a more comfortable and condusive environment following the temporary closure due to the rejuvenation process which began on August 7, 2017. The upgrading process took approximately 13 weeks. Relocation of books and acquisition of new furnitures took another 2 months.
We are pleased to announce the Indian Studies Library is now open in a more cheerful and user friendly atmosphere with systematic placement of various collections (Open Stack Collection, References, Tamil Malaysiana, Special Collections) in well organized arrangement. Additional facilities, for instance the Carrel Rooms, Discussion Corner and the Meeting Room as well as a designated area for small events are provided to optimize the library usage.
We are hopeful that the entire UM Community will not only come to the library for the vast amount of knowledge available in the collection but also to make the utmost use of the facilities provided. The library staff are always ready to provide hands on and efficient assistance.
Thank you for your patience.
Congratulation.
