Kalendar Sesi Akademik 2015/2016

Berikut adalah kalendar pengajian bagi sesi akademik 2015/2016. Untuk makluman semua, Fakulti Perubatan (Sarjana Muda Perubatan dan Sarjana Muda Pembedahan) dan Fakulti Pergigian (Pra-Klinikal Tahun 1 dan 2) menggunakan kalendar yang berlainan. Program peringkat asasi di Kuala Lumpur dan Nilam Puri juga menggunakan kalendar yang berlainan.

Malaysian Journals indexed in the Web of Science

The Web of Science (WOS) is a citation database which has 8,718 journal titles indexed in it. To date, only 12 journals from Malaysia have made their way into WOS and this equates to 0.14% of total journal titles indexed.

The following is a list of the Malaysian journals which includes their ISSN and publisher. Two of the journals, namely the Malaysian Journal of Computer Science and the Malaysian Journal of Library and Information Science are from our very own University of Malaya.

Preparing citations in academic writing

What is a citation? A citation is a reference to a specific book, periodical or media item. It leads a reader to the source where the information can be found. We need to provide proper citations in order :

  • To acknowledge the original authors
  • To provide evidence that reports are supported by valid facts
  • To avoid accusations of plagiarism
  • To serve as a guide for other researchers

What is EndNote?

  • EndNote is a bibliographic management software used to organize bibliographic references as well as to create a bibliography or reference list
  • It is freely available to all staff and students of University of Malaya and can be downloaded via a fixed line from software.um.edu.my
  • Currently EndNote X7 is being used.
  • Steps in EndNote includes :
    • Inputting referencse manually
    • Importing references directly From Online Databases and the internet
    • Citing and creating a list of Bibliographies in Microsoft WORD
