Within the next few hours, we will be saying our goodbyes to 2013 and welcoming in 2014. As the hours pass, most of us would be looking back at the going-ons in our lives in 2013. Some would be harbouring happy memories whilst others would be holding back their tears as they recall sad moments. But whatever 2013 brought with it, we should be closing it with a silent prayer for a better 2014.

The UM Library had a busy but memorable 2013. We managed to increase our collection of both print and electronic resources considerably and tried our best to provide numerous facilities and services to our multitude of users. And yes, we do get complaints but we also get our fair share of compliments. 2013 is the year we communicate to our users through various means and social media topped our list. We tweet via Twitter and post messages on our FB. We have seen how our users cling to their mobile devices and we followed suit by experimenting with mobile services. Through all this, we continued to conduct information skills sessions to better equip our users with the skills necessary for them to be information literate.

We hope for better things to come in 2014 and we look forward to continue serving our users. Thank you for all your continuous support. Happy New Year and all the best in your examinations.
